Sachet WIP’s

I love making these.  Each one looks different because of beads and threads chosen to work with. I’ve got to do the edges and stuff with dried lavender then I can package these up in zip lop bags ready for sale.  Well, I hope they will sell.

My mind keeps working on other embroidery projects, crocheting, gardening and homecaring are thrown into the mix too, plus my part-time job.

That’s it for now. I need to get a move on for the day.

Latest creation

Good morning Friends ~ Here is my latest little creation. It measures 3 1/4 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches high. It took 7 hours from start to finish. The other pieces I've done and shown here, with the exception of the bird, I did not keep track of my time, which is why I've not yet posted them for sale on Etsy, in our shop ArtistikUs ElastikUs. Beading takes more time than the actual embroidery, but to me the beads really add something to each piece and I love doing this needlework.

I've been collecting antique embroidery motifs some as early as 17th century for my needlework creations.

Latest beaded embroidery piece

Here is my latest piece. I need to take pictures out in daylight for better color, but for now this will do. I've already started on the next piece. :-) The fabric is a very light weight pale lavender, not as dark as it looks in the photograph. I still have to initial and date the piece.

Thanks for looking.

Next beaded piece

Good morning Folks ~ Hope you all are having a good week so far.

Here is my latest beaded/embroidery piece. I think I will be framing some of these pieces, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I just love doing these. As if you can't tell. :-) Click on pictures for a larger view.

First beaded embroidery piece for 2010

Hi there folks. Hope you are keeping warm.

Here is my latest piece and I am looking forward to the next one. :-)Some of the beads are so tiny, and the dang beading needle is awful to thread, but I love it. Each piece takes hours and I get a back ache, so I have to pace myself. (Easier said than done.) You just want to do one more stitch, add one more bead, and more time slips by.

Here is my workspace while working on this piece. I cleaned it up last night so that it will be ready when I start the next one.

Another bead embroidery project

Good afternoon. Hope you all have had a restful day today after a busy week this past week.

I just finished another little project and I can see where I might get addicted to this. :-) I was inspired by a great book I checked out at the library. The book is 'Beaded Dimensional Embroidery' by Helan Pearce. Her work is lovely and inspiring.

The first picture is my little work space in our library/office.

My computer is to the left. Books surround me on the walls.

Finished needlework, now I have to figure out what to do with it. I do want to sell this in my Etsy shop. The shop isn't open yet, but I hope to do so, the beginning of 2010. I'm such a procrastinator.
