Hi there Folks ~ When I saw a picture that SweetBay posted in her blog of a sweet little Eastern Bluebird, I asked her if I could use the photo as inspiration for a needlework piece, and she graciously gave her permission.
I finally started this afternoon. Already have almost 2 hours into the piece. I am using one strand of embroidery thread instead of two, for a finer look. I already used a black bead for his eye, and that brought him to life.
This piece is a tad intimidating, but I'm enjoying it now that I've started.

Bluebirds are one of my favorite birds! I think it is neat the way you can take a picture and turn it into an embroidered piece of beauty! They do have such sweet eyes don’t they? Can’t wait to see the final touches…
I never thought I would follow a blog on needlework... but yours is amazing! I really appreciate embroidery because I have siblings who have done beautiful needle work through the years... if I had time for another interest, I think this is one I'd consider! LC
Nina ~ Thank you for visiting and your nice comments. I'll post another picture when the little bird is finished.
Skeeter ~ Thanks for your comment and visiting. When I saw this picture of SweetBays', right off I thought I'd love to do this in embroidery. Their little eyes hold so much joy of life in them.
L.C. ~ Thanks for visiting and your kind comment. I visited your blog and was truly inspired this morning, to work in my gardens, to work on my needlework, and to do some homecaring.
